Amazing advice! We just reached out to Henry as we were exploring buying a house on auction in the Clapham area. Henry was a mine of information and very knowledgeable about the process and its pitfalls. Henry advised that buying a house on auction requires a lot of preparation, getting the right people – e.g., solicitor…- lined up to properly conduct the due diligence before bidding. Also, this means that there is money to be spent (at least for non professional investors like us) before bidding and even if we don’t win the auction. Henry also provided a lot of insights on the fact that buying a house cheaper on auction is often a myth! On auction you buy houses at their market value 🙂 and there is always a risk that we may trip up! It is a risky process!
