A trip in foul weather to Osterley for a chat with Samatha Simmons and then to New Broadcasting House to talk to Jane Hill about the latest Nationwide numbers on 2013. They seem too high to me and they miss at a regional level as their own footnotes confirm.
The Nationwide has 15% market share. There were 97k homes sold in November and 71k mortgage approvals according to the Bank of England . This means that Britain’s biggest building society saw just 10,500 deals which whilst impressive does limit their knowledge of the whole market.
In the meantime, I’ve nailed my own predictions to the mast – ready for others to agree/disagree.
