Queen sells beaches to french

Reports that the Crown Estate plans to sell up to 250 miles of shoreline have surfaced today. Th buyer is a french gravel company who intend to use the sand and shingle for building projects in France.

I’m not sure where this will leave owners of coastal properties who are still coming to terms with the Right to Roam legislations that the last Government pushed through and that gave public access to miles of coastline around the British Isles. As for the impact on house prices in an area like Sandbanks near Poole in Dorset, reputedly the 4th most expensive real estate in the world, one can only imagine!

I can’t believe it! What next, the crown jewels?
